Online Accounts: Before you can set up online access to your CBC account, CBC needs to tie your email address to your store charge account information. Please call or email CBC at servicecounter@corningbuilding.com so we may add your email to your store account which will allow you an online account (same number). CBC will email you a welcome with a temporary password that you will be asked to change.
If you do not have a store account, you may ask for a guest account. The guest account will also identify you by your email and retain some information, like name and delivery address, so you do not have to reenter it.
You do not have to establish any type of account if you do not want CBC to retain information. You can pay by credit card and enter pertinent information as the system requests it.
Shipping Rates and Times: Deliveries are $39 for a tailgate delivery within a 50-mile radius of CBC, Corning, NY 14830. Add $1.50 per pc of sheetrock for 2-man delivery to the inside of the house, 1st floor only. Add $.50 per bag for salt placement. Appliance deliveries are $39 for tailgate drop-off within a 50-mile radius of CBC; $69 for delivery & removal. Some hookups are available, but you must talk with a CBC Appliance store salesperson to make arrangements. If an order is placed that requires shipping fees, we will call or email you with the fees for USPS or UPS or FEDEX. If you do not want to pay the shipping fees and you have already placed the order, we will refund to the credit card you used to place the order. Delivery: Deliveries can happen within a ‘2 day’ to ‘2 week’ schedule. We will make a phone call or an email after you place your order to confirm day and am or pm for delivery. Appliance deliveries may take 14 business days. If you have an emergency, call CBC at 607-454-7180 (Online Store) or 607-346-2938 (Service Counter).
Pickup: CBC requests that you pull up to one of the CBC labeled posts (Pick Up Here) in the side parking lot to the right of the store as you drive in from Park Ave. Unlock your trunk, and call 607-454-7214 or 607-483-5076, ask for the Guard House, staff will place your order in your vehicle. CBC asks that you review the product placement in your car. If you do not want interaction with the staff, please call us again – after you review the placement – and we will return to your vehicle if there is a problem. If you are picking up material from the lumber yard, the Guard House will give you back your ticket and direct you to the lumber yard entrance at the left of the store. There will be CBC labeled posts (Pick Up Here) in the front of Shed 1. Traffic flows from your left toward your right and through the lumber yard (between sheds), so you will eventually exit where you first picked up your ticket at the Guard House.
CBC will load your vehicle with the large items from the Lumber Yard: lumber, plywood, water heaters, appliances, cabinets, and practically anything you want to buy if you have the space. We will not pull these products prior to your arrival, thereby handling them twice and increasing the risk of damage. We will, however, be attentive to your needs, stay with you, and load your vehicle for you.
CBC can cut plywood and thread pipe, or cut float glass and plexiglass, however, experience dictates we will wait till you arrive to make sure the size or threading is correct.
Taxes: Taxes are determined by location.
General Shipping Policies: CBC expects to deliver your order in good condition and will work to ensure you are satisfied if there is a problem.
Returns: CBC accepts returns for stock items within 30 days receipt of purchase, with the receipt number. Product must be in good condition, inside the original package, and resaleable. Special Orders, cuts, rips, or threading are not returnable.
Pickup Shipping Charges: There is a $39 shipping fee to return items on a CBC truck for pickup that was not a CBC error. We are happy to pick up product, even though we may need help to put things back on the bed of the truck, there is, however, this charge for the truck and driver time.
Gift Cards: Gift Cards are not returnable for cash after purchase.
Pet Food (and similar products) are not returnable, but they may be refundable.
Hazardous Materials: Hazardous Materials, especially those involving flammable material liquids or gases are not returnable to CBC. You must contact the manufacturer directly. Please do not bring them inside the store.
Water Heaters: Water Heaters typically carry a 5- or 6-year residential warranty. All the information about the water heater is taped in a pocket on the water heater. Phone numbers are available and serial #s are located in this pocket. Please stand near this pocket with pen and paper when you call the manufacturer who will ask questions and, at the end of the call, may give you a warranty authorization # to exchange the water heater at CBC with that number.
Appliances: Appliance warranties are held by the manufacturer and so the manufacturer will determine how the warranty will be honored. Please call the manufacturer’s 800 number directly.
Assembly: Some assembly is available at no charge to our customers for products like lawn mowers, wheelbarrows, patio furniture, and grills. Often people like product to remain in a box for transport but if you want assembly, please allow CBC 48 hours to arrange assembly.
Payments: Online payments can be made by you with a credit card only. Online payments can be made on CBC accounts if you ask for us to open your account to the Online Store and you establish a password.
Acceptable Payment: Your own Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discovery. Debit cards that can be used as charge cards will be accepted. CBC’s website has information encryption capabilities that offer reliable protection from unauthorized access and provide cardholders with the safest way to shop online. Email is a non-secure way for transmitting information and should not be used to transmit card account numbers or other sensitive information.
